Topeka, KS (PRWEB) November 13, 2011

At Briggs Dodge – the leading Dodge dealership in Topeka, Kansas- they were not surprised that the new Dodge Durango has won so many awards. The new Dodge Durango continues to garner high praise for its four-wheel independent suspension, near 50:50 weight distribution, responsive steering and handling and more. The new Durango has quite a bit to offer.

The craftsmanship found in this vehicle demonstrates why it took Dodge three years to overhaul this vehicle it was well worth the wait, said Troy Snyder Director of Product Development, NADAguides. Every line of the 2011 Dodge Durango has become fluid and smooth, the driving performance enhanced, the interior upgraded to luxury standards and a safety system that surpasses its closest competitors. Our team of analysts really enjoyed driving this vehicle and feels it will give the competition a run for its money.

The NADAguides (National Automobile Dealers Association) Car of the Month award gives consumers practical information on new cars, trucks and SUVs chosen by the analysts at NADAguides for exceptional performance, efficiency, features, options and appeal.

The Car of the Month award from NADAguides follows one week after the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) named the Dodge Durango Full-Size SUV of Texas. Some of the criteria used to come up with NADAguides Car of the Month include

    quality of engineering

fuel efficiency

safety equipment and ratings

pricing and overall value

sales trends

consumer market interest on NADAguides.com,

test drives performed by NADAguides market analysts.

Car of the Month vehicles are eligible for the NADAguides Car of the Year award.

Were extremely pleased NADAguides has recognized the Dodge Durango as the Car of the Month for November, said Reid Bigland, President and CEO Dodge brand. Its always an honor when automotive experts recognize the style, capability and value were offering with our all-new lineup of vehicles. With Durangos class-leading towing capacity, best-in-class driving range and premium interior, it truly is one of the best choices in the seven-passenger SUV segment.

Local residents who want to learn more about Dodge, Chrysler or Jeep products should stop by Briggs Dodge – the leading Dodge dealership in Topeka, Kansas and surrounding areas. Their sales team is professional, friendly, and standing by to answer any questions consumers might have about any of the great new Dodge models, including the 2011 or 2012 Dodge Durango in Topeka, Kansas.

A police auction can be a viable place to pick up a car for a fraction of its worth to rehabilitate and sell for profit. You get a real mix of cars at these auctions, from old heaps left by the side of the road to functional, decent cars seized due to driver infractions.

Find out from your local police when the next auction is. Some departments hold auctions every month, running advertisements in newspapers or posting notices on their Internet site.

2

Arrive early for the inspection period to look over the vehicles up for bid. Auctions are frequently held at a commercial towing facility contracted by the police or at the police storage lot. You’re allowed a few hours for inspection before cars go on the block.

3

Bring cash. Most sales are final, and the auction house may only accept cash or certified checks.

4

Bring a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance, in case you make a winning bid and you need to pick up a temporary permit to drive the car home (permit regulations vary by locality).

5

Pay the nominal bidder registration fee, and save your bidder number to show the auctioneer when you make a bid. Bids are accepted only from registered bidders. (See How to Buy at Auction.)

6

Look for clues that the car was moving under its own power recently. Some police stickers, such as “driving with license suspended” (DWLS), may indicate it probably runs OK. Also be aware that impounded vehicles could have been sitting for a year or longer with no maintenance whatsoever.

7

Whip out a used-car price guide (like Kelley Blue Book) once you’ve seen the cars, and look up trade-in values of the vehicles up for bid. If you own a PDA with wireless Internet connection, get the vehicle identification number (VIN) and run a Carfax.com vehicle history report before you even think about bidding. (See How to Choose a Personal Digital Assistant.)

8

Familiarize yourself with the rules of the auction before the bidding starts, so you don’t miss out on a great car. Read How to Buy at Auction and learn the lingo. For example, an absolute auction means there’s no reserve (minimum) price, in which case a car might be picked up for an extremely low bid. Also, some auction houses charge a 5 to 15 percent buyer’s premium on top of the bidding price.

9

Remember that when you bid for these cars, you’re not likely to get any warranties or guarantees. In fact, the car you buy may not even start.

Tips & Warnings

An “as is, where is” sales clause basically means the auction can’t be held responsible for misrepresentation or defect: You’re knowingly bidding on potential junk.

Some auctions don’t allow bidders to start up cars during inspection. Since you won’t know if a vehicle runs, these auctions are a crap shoot.

Some auctions don’t allow owners to try to recover their own impounded cars by bidding on them instead of paying all the fines, towing and storage fees they owe.

Will donating a car really save you any money on your income taxes? Donating a car can be mutually beneficial; to the donor they receive a tax credit and the charity receives a car they can sell for cash to be used on their benevolent cause. If only it was that simple! Charities give you a voucher for the amount that they receive upon sale, if they don’t sell the car by the time you do your taxes, you wont get the write-off. If you donate a car you only receive the effect of getting your taxes reduced by your tax rate. In easier terms; if you donate a thousand dollar car and your tax rate is 15%, the charity will get a $1,000 upon sale but you will get a $1,000 reduction in your gross income but only benefit in paying $150 less tax. Is it worth it? Also, cars needs to be handled, towed, stored, cleaned, auctioned, that expense will reduce the amount the charity receives upon sale. It would only make sense those second hand expenses would reduce the amount of the proceeds.

Everyday ethics: Tots on bikes By randy cohen Updated Dec 17, 2010 05:56PM MDT My wife and I frequently transport our 4-year-old and 1-year-old by bicycle. They wear helmets and ride in a trailer or bike-mounted seats. People sometimes challenge us, asking if this is safe. The chances of our being hit by a car are low, but the consequences could be catastrophic. Is it OK to take the kids by bike …

As it turned out I received trade in value for my car, in cash, in about an hour!

When I bought my new car my coworker was going to buy my old car then she flaked. So, twice a week I have to move the car back and forth across the street for street cleaning. Then to make matters worse it ran out of gas and the battery died, last Thursday night. I didn’t get a chance to put yet another ad in the paper to sell the car that weekend, I needed to lug gas from the gas station in my new car and borrow jumper cables, so that I could continue moving the car back and forth? On Sunday I decided I had enough of that car, plus I needed to move it before Monday.

I found 310cashforcars.com on Google search, I called (310) 204-2277, the guy on the phone was really cool, and he spoke English! We discussed the issues with the car, a dent on the back door, the gas drama and all. The guy was very knowledgeable, friendly and understanding. He checked a data base for price, then actually found a licensed dealer that agreed to buy the car that day! I was kind of stressed when I called, the guy had me laughing by the end of the call.

About an hour later the buyer showed up, he put gas in the car and started it. The guy on the phone told me that by doing so he was able to pay more for the car because they could check the engine before they bought it. As it turned out I received trade in value for my car, in cash, in about an hour!

The buyer filled out the Release of Liability for the DMV for me, gave me my cash and towed the car away. In my head I pictured a lot of drama, as I had experienced in trying to sell this very vehicle. The guys from 310cashforcars.com made selling my car easy and fast!

Thank you guys again!
